After just over eight years in the Design District, we’ve decided it’s time to transition Ferris Wheelers BBQ into something new.
Over the years, we’ve been lucky to feed thousands of guests, host incredible artists, and work alongside a team who brought this place to life every single day. Ferris Wheelers was never just a restaurant — it was a labor of love from everyone who made it happen, from pitmasters and bartenders to the bands who turned our backyard into something electric.
As the neighborhood has evolved, and as we’ve looked toward the future of dining and entertainment in Dallas, we’ve realized it’s time to reimagine what this property can be. The economic pressures facing small businesses today, combined with ongoing permitting and infrastructure challenges, made it difficult to move forward with improvements in the way we’d hoped. Rather than patch over problems, we’ve chosen to take a step back and start fresh.
Our dining room will close today to begin renovations, but the backyard will remain open this week and continue to be open for events during our remodel. There’s still time to share a few final nights together under the lights of the Ferris Wheel — including The Infamous Stringdusters concert on November 8. After Saturday, we’ll shift to hosting concerts and special events only, until it’s time to reveal what’s coming next.
To everyone who’s come through our doors, thank you! For the memories, the music, and the magic that made Ferris what it was. This isn’t goodbye to the space, just the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
Moving forward, Annette Marin and Matthew Harber of Spune Productions will take the lead on a new concept. We’re excited for the heartfelt vision they have for this location, and you can expect to hear more about their plans, for both the AM and PM, in the coming weeks.

P.S. From Monday Nov 3rd we are no longer open for lunch service. Regular service for dinner is still available in the back yard from 4pm. Our concerts will continue as planned – check out calendar for more info!
